Most travelers require a visa to enter Egypt. Citizens of Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Lebanon, Macao, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Malaysia are exempted.
Visas can be obtained either online before travel or on arrival at selected airports in Egypt.
Eligible travelers can obtain a visa upon arrival at major airports, including Cairo International Airport. The fee is approximately $30 USD per person, payable in cash (small bills recommended).
Travelers from the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland can apply for an e-visa online. Processing typically takes 2–7 working days, and a printed copy must be presented upon arrival.
Tourist visas are generally valid for 30 days and may be extended in some cases.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of entry and contain at least two blank pages.
